Children talk politics, too.
This morning I had a barely-five-years-old girl, one of the sweetest kids you could ever meet, ask me why George Bush was elected. "John Kerry went to war but he didn't," she said. "So why didn't people vote for Kerry?" So innocently she asked me this.
"I think a lot of people died in the war," she tells me. "I think maybe...200 people." "More than that," I tell her. "250?" she guesses. "Way more than that," I say. "That's why war is bad. Because so many people are killed."
She ponders that for a moment. "Oh."
